PIGMENT DYE CONSIDERATIONS:
The ‘pigment-dye’ process could more appropriately be titled ‘fabric painting,’ as the desired consortium of ‘vintage’ or ‘worn’ color is achieved primarily by adhering dye to only the surface. Coloring achieved with this type of pigment-dye application is more akin to what is commonly thought of as ‘paint-application’ or simply ‘painting’. Being that the pigment-dye application does not ‘saturate’ the fabric (as with traditional garment dyeing applications), Pigment-dyes are more likely to gradually shed color after many wash cycles. The rub, of course, is that the Pigment-Dye process achieves the immensely popular ‘worn’ or ‘vintage’ style.
As with most of our apparel, we recommend washing with similar colors. Washing garments in cold water reduces the chance of staining.
